Jagtap Basket Strainers are used to trap solid contaminants from liquid streams. The screen used is in form of a basket and can be removed from the external strainer housing, with the help of lifting handles. They are majorly designed for applications where large amounts of solids particulate are expected and clean-out will be frequent.
Basket strainers provide much larger filtration areas compared to T-type and Y-type strainers. They are typically installed upstream of Pumps, Valves, and other types of process equipment, which protects the expensive equipment and lessens their damage and downtime.
