Jagtapʼs welded wedge wire screen provides uniform water collection during the filtration process and uniform distribution of air and water during the backwash through an internal PVC pipe connection, this makes this system unique compared to conventional systems.
Jagtap Welded Wedge Wire Screen is made of precise fine slots which retain the filter media (sand) directly and help eliminate the use of Gravel layers. Jagtapʼs Welded Wedge Wire Screen Under the drain system enhances filter bed performance, ensuring years of nonstop service and helps eliminate problems such as Media loss, formation of Mud balls, uneven back washing, and deformed sand beds. Jagtapʼs Welded Wedge Wire Screen Under drain system has commercial benefits compared to conventional systems.
As the Coarse Medial (Gravels) are eliminated results increased capacity of filter beds and hence the number of beds is reduced, lowering the construction cost of the plant, and lowering the cost of Gravels as direct filter media is retained on the Jagtapʼs Welded Wedge Wire Screen laterals, lowers the backwash water volume, lowers the power requirement, lowers the piping and instrumentation, these all resulting to a good cost saving
Jagtapʼs Welded Wedge Wire Screen Under drain system has its benefits as follows
- Jagtapʼs Welded wedge wire screen lateral slots are as fine as 150 microns (0.15 mm) allowing direct retention of filter media. (Slot size can be selected as per the requirement ranging from 100 microns onwards)
- Jagtapʼs Welded wedge wire screen laterals provide more open area help reduce the water velocity through the slots and also increase filter capacity resulting higher flow rate As the direct filter media (sand) retention is possible, coarse media (gravels) is eliminated which results in increased filter media depth and also reduces the head-loss of the filter system enhancing the treatment process.
- Jagtapʼs Welded wedge wire screen laterals provide uniform backwash throughout the filter as all the laterals have their own air/ water backwash connection resulting in proper backwashing making filter beds more clean.
